This opportunity is for a Head of Windows Engineering to lead and develop the organisation's global Microsoft infrastructure estate. Combining hands‑on technical leadership with team management, the role is responsible for driving automation, delivering infrastructure projects, setting technical standards, and leading the strategic direction of a highly available Windows platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the global Windows & Microsoft infrastructure environment
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a distributed engineering team
  • Drive automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives across the estate
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
  • Lead infrastructure improvement and modernisation projects
  • Manage and optimise core Microsoft technologies including:
    • Windows Server
    • Microsoft 365
    • Active Directory / Entra ID
    • Intune
    • Azure services
  • Support hybrid cloud infrastructure environments across Azure and AWS
  • Improve operational efficiency, platform reliability and security posture
  • Work closely with technical operations and wider infrastructure teams globally

Skills / Must Have:

  • Strong background in enterprise Windows infrastructure engineering
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical engineering teams
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Terraform
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Microsoft 365
    • Active Directory / Hybrid Identity
    • Azure
    • Intune
    • Windows Server environments
  • Experience operating within complex, global infrastructure environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and escalation management capability

Location: West London (Hybrid 3x per week in the office)

Salary: Up to £125,000 basic salary per annum + Discretionary bonus
