The consulting firm has partnered with a global technology services organisation and is seeking a Python Developer with strong hands-on Java experience for a 12-month hybrid contract based in the UK (3 days on-site per week). The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining back-end applications and services within a financial services environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain agents, scripts, and applications in Python, integrating with Java components as applicable.
- Build and enhance RESTful services using Spring and Spring Boot.
- Develop and support Back End components and utilities using Java.
- Participate in end-to-end development including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
- Integrate applications with databases and external systems, ensuring high performance, security, and availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, Architects, and Product Owners.
- Follow coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices are upheld throughout.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Skills/Must Have:
- Strong Python development and Scripting experience (essential).
- Solid hands-on Java experience including Core Java and Java 8+ (essential).
- Experience with Spring and Spring Boot for building RESTful services.
- Proven experience with RDBMS platforms including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle (essential).
- Git and version control experience (essential).
- Ability to work across the full development lifecycle in a collaborative, agile environment.

- Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days on-site).

- Salary: £450/day.
