The company is looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a busy IT operations environment, supporting Microsoft cloud and on-prem infrastructure. The role focuses on resolving escalated incidents, supporting end-user environments, and maintaining stability across M365, endpoint management, and core infrastructure services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 2nd line support for incidents and service requests across desktop, server, and cloud environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Microsoft 365, Windows environments, and Active Directory/Entra ID
  • Support endpoint management using Intune, including device configuration, compliance, and updates
  • Assist with user access management, including MFA, Conditional Access, and permissions
  • Support and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Desktop/Remote Desktop Services environments
  • Perform patching and updates across systems, ensuring security and compliance standards are met
  • Work within an ITSM tool (e.g., ServiceNow/Jira), managing ticket queues, prioritisation, and escalations
  • Support network-related issues including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Collaborate with 3rd line teams and external vendors for complex issue resolution
Required Skills / Qualifications
  • Experience in a 2nd line/support engineer role within a Microsoft environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
    • Active Directory/Entra ID
    • Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
  • Hands-on experience with Intune/Endpoint Manager
  • Understanding of MFA, Conditional Access, and identity management
  • Experience supporting AVD or RDS environments
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Experience working with ITSM tools and SLA-driven environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Contract Details
  • Location: Hybrid - Birmingham
  • Contract: 2 Months (Initial)
  • Salary: £250 per day (Inside IR35)
