Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support secure network infrastructures across private cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring solutions meet strict performance and security requirements.
- This includes delivering software-defined networking capabilities within VMware environments and maintaining reliable connectivity across physical and virtual estates.
- Configure and support network security controls such as firewalls, VPNs, and load-balancing solutions, ensuring high availability and alignment with Zero Trust principles.
- Automation will be a key focus, with responsibility for reducing manual network operations through scripting and infrastructure-as-code techniques.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues across routing, switching, and transport layers, proactively improving stability and performance.
- Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you will produce clear network designs and documentation while continuously improving how network services are delivered.
Skills / Must Have
- Active DV Clearance (sole UK national)
- Strong enterprise networking experience across routing and switching technologies
- Hands-on experience with software-defined networking, ideally VMware NSX
- Solid understanding of network security principles including firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation
- Experience with network automation or configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, scripting)
