Consulting firm has partnered with a leading banking and financial services organisation and is seeking an experienced Customer Journey Manager for a 12-month hybrid contract based in London or Edinburgh (2 days on-site per week). The role focuses on redesigning end-to-end customer journeys across Trade Finance products, shaping API strategy, and driving digital transformation initiatives for a major financial services environment.
Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end mapping of customer journeys across Trade Finance products including Documentary Trade (LCs, Guarantees, Collections) and Open Account (SCF, Receivables Finance)
- Define "as-is" and "to-be" customer journeys, identifying pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for digital and API enablement
- Embed client journeys into product design, API scope, and delivery roadmaps, collaborating with business, coverage, and client teams to validate findings
- Work closely with Trade Lab and Engineering teams to define and shape Trade API strategy and use cases, prioritising API-led capabilities such as LC APIs, SCF, and Receivables
- Translate business requirements into architectural and design artefacts, including solution blueprints and documentation standards
- Support RFPs, vendor onboarding, and solution evaluation, ensuring alignment to governance forums including Design Authority and Architecture Review Boards
- Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and integration constraints across complex, multi-system environments
Skills / Must Have
- Strong domain experience in Trade Finance with a solid understanding of end-to-end trade workflows and client journeys
- Proven experience in customer journey mapping and service design, with the ability to translate client needs into product and technical solutions
- Familiarity with cloud, data, and modern architecture patterns, and experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with an understanding of governance frameworks and design review processes
- Desirable: experience with Trade platforms such as Surecomp, Finastra, FIS, or Credble, and knowledge of Trade digitisation initiatives
