You’ll be part of a small, collaborative team of three engineers, working across a standardised but evolving network environment. The role focuses on implementation and support, with exposure to firewalls, routing, switching, and wireless — and a clear path to move into design over time. The business has grown significantly through mergers and acquisitions, meaning there is ongoing project work around site integrations, office and warehouse moves, and network standardisation. Culturally, this is a standout. The team is known for its low churn, respectful environment, and long-term stability, with engineers typically staying 5+ years. You’ll be given support early on, then trusted to run independently once settled.
Responsibilities:
- Support and implement network infrastructure across a global multi-site environment.
- Administer and manage firewall platforms (Palo Alto or Fortinet).
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP & OSPF).
- Manage site-to-site VPNs and secure connectivity between locations.
- Support switching environments including VLAN configuration.
- Work across wireless networks (Meraki, Extreme).
- Support ongoing network integration projects linked to business growth.
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and support global connectivity requirements.
Technical Environment:
- Palo Alto firewalls (Fortinet also considered)
- Cisco / Meraki switching
- Meraki / Extreme wireless
- AWS cloud networking (limited involvement)
Skills / Must Have:
- Strong networking fundamentals across routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Experience with BGP and OSPF routing.
- Hands-on experience with VPN technologies (site-to-site).
- Experience administering enterprise firewall platforms.
- Solid understanding of VLANs and switching environments.
- Ability to operate independently after initial onboarding.
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
- Exposure to global, multi-site network environments.
- Experience working on office or warehouse network deployments.
