About the Company:

Our client is an industry-leading electrical installation, fire protection, life safety and security systems specialist working within the critical infrastructure market. Headquartered in St Helens with operations across the UK and Europe, they deliver end-to-end services covering design, installation, commissioning and facilities management for data centres and industrial environments. They hold BAFE, NICEIC, FIA, ECA and BSI accreditations and partner with large names like Honeywell & Kentec. With five data centre clients, a rapidly growing contract pipeline and ambitious expansion plans.

This is a travelling role - expect roughly three weeks away on European contracts (Germany and Norway) followed by five weeks back on UK sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning addressable fire alarm systems across new and upgraded installations
  • Room integrity testing on gas suppression systems (UK and Germany)
  • Reactive commissioning to client specifications
  • Low voltage fire alarm installation and sign-off
  • System upgrades and panel changeovers
  • Supporting the service team on complex fault resolution
  • Working to BS5839 and relevant European standards

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years in a fire alarm commissioning role
  • Gas suppression commissioning experience - VESDA systems highly desirable
  • Room integrity testing experience
  • Familiarity with leading panels: Notifier, Schrack Seconet, Kentec, Tyco, Kidde
  • Valid CSCS or ECS card
  • Full UK driving licence, no more than 3 points
  • Comfortable with regular European travel

Desirable:

  • VESDA suppression systems certification
  • Electrical HNC or NVQ
  • Data centre commissioning experience
