We are working in partnership with a growing recycling and trading business to recruit Sales & Trading Assistants to support their continued expansion. This is an excellent opportunity for commercially minded individuals who are keen to develop both sales and purchasing skills within a fast-paced trading environment. Unlike traditional roles that focus on one area, this position offers exposure to the full commercial cycle, with structured support and mentoring from an experienced team.

The Business

  • A small, agile organisation with a modern and pragmatic approach
  • Established Barlborough site operating for 8–10 years
  • Expanded further following a merger in 2023
  • Strong emphasis on mentoring, collaboration, and development

The Role

Initially a generalist role, you will support both sales and purchasing activities, helping to buy, sell, and trade materials while learning the commercial fundamentals of the industry. As the business grows across multiple sites, there will be clear opportunities to specialise and progress.

What They’re Looking For

This business is open to training the right people and places more importance on attitude and potential than a perfect CV. They are particularly keen to speak with candidates who are:

  • Confident, sociable, and commercially curious
  • Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong communicators with a hands-on mindset
  • Keen to learn, develop, and grow with a business

Candidates aged 18–30 are especially encouraged to apply, though all applications will be considered on merit.

Why Apply?

  • Learn both sales and trading rather than being pigeonholed early on
  • Join a business that values personality, adaptability, and commercial awareness
  • Benefit from hands-on mentoring and long-term career development
  • Be part of a growing organisation with real progression opportunities

If you’re looking for a role where potential matters more than polish and you want to build a long-term career in a commercial environment, this could be the opportunity for you.
