About the role: As Marketing Specialist UK, you will support the local marketing activities in the UK region, based on global Suunto brand strategy & sales targets, to support the brand growth in the region (awareness and sales growth). The support will focus – but is not limited – to below marketing activities:

  • End-consumer activities: events, fair trade, community runs, athletes & ambassadors, influencers
  • Retailer activities: execution of local marketing plans aligned to UK sales strategy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helps with executing the yearly local marketing plan: brand themes, launches, and commercial campaigns, based on both local and global marketing strategy and EMEA sales and marketing strategy.
  • Support the implementation & follow up of the marketing plans in the different local channels, with a specific focus on: retail channels, end-consumers channels (events, community activations, partnerships, ambassadors).
  • Securing high quality execution of planned marketing activities with selected local retailers and Key Accounts, ensuring marketing plan delivery, driving in-store excellence and supporting sell-through.
  • Develop and deliver to retailers necessary toolkits to ensure consistency and quality of end-consumer experience in the relevant retail channels.
  • Support the sales team in a common objective to reach excellence in store: provide the necessary marketing material and support with presence in store when needed.
  • Responsible for the local POS together with the local sales team (production/follow up & delivery).
  • Supporting local events initiatives (organisation, implementation and follow up) across media events, product tests, sports events, and trade fairs.
  • Supporting the management of local athletes, ambassadors, and communities.
  • Supporting the management of the local PR agency, including sample ordering and reporting.
  • Reporting, providing progress updates of marketing activities & projects.
  • Manage his/her tasks & projects within given brand & local guidelines, budget and deadlines.
  • Be open to support the team on other topics whenever it is needed.

You should have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Degree in marketing or other relevant qualification.
  • Experience in executing marketing initiatives.
  • Fluent English is a requirement (Company language is English).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel domestic and abroad.
  • Ability to work on weekends & evenings as required.
  • Understanding of the marketing funnel, marketing activities & their objectives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-sufficient and pro-active.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High sense of self-motivation and ownership.
  • Strong interest in learning, improving, and challenging yourself.
  • Understanding of the sport / outdoor market a must, and knowledge of the scuba diving market a plus (but not essential).
  • Knowledge of retail distribution & competitor landscape is a plus.
