Hambleton Farms, an independent owner-run food manufacturer and multi-site retailer, are looking for a Production Operative to join the team at their production kitchen in Oakham. Our business has grown significantly over the last 18 years, becoming a multi-award-winning operation with an enthusiastic and dedicated team of employees.

Our delis are packed with a large selection of handmade pies, cooked meats, scotch eggs, olives and charcuterie. Our cheese counters are stocked with local, national and internationally sourced cheeses from only the finest producers. Our traditionally trained Butchers serve only the finest cuts of beef, lamb, pork, poultry and game.

What You’ll Do As Production Operative:

  • Assist with the production of our delicious handmade products for sale in our retail units.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work in a busy, hands-on, production environment.
  • Follow our signature recipes to batch cook a variety of our customers’ favourite products.
  • Correctly package and label products for sale.
  • Practice necessary due diligence – health and safety, food safety, food hygiene etc. – keeping our customers and employees safe.

What We’re Looking For In A Production Operative:

  • A passion for food.
  • Ability to work hard, both within a small team (3) and independently.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
  • Honest, reliable and dedicated.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and a hardworking attitude.
  • Previous experience in a Production Assistant, Cook or Chef role would be advantageous.
  • Candidates must be over 18 years old (in order to comply with regulations re: equipment usage).

What We Offer:

  • Monday – Friday DAYS ONLY; 06:00-16:00.
  • Competitive hourly rate in the region of £13.50-£14.00 (remuneration dependant on skills and experience).
  • Part of the staff in-store discount scheme, company pension scheme and Death in service insurance scheme.
  • Uniform and full training provided.
