Joining us at Thames Wood House, our soon to open luxury care home that provides residential, dementia, and nursing care for older people, you will be part of a team that is genuinely passionate about the health and well-being of our residents. Reporting to the Maintenance Officer, the maintenance team makes sure that we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Officer to join our team in May 2026.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure the home and grounds are kept in a good state of repair and residents have access to all appropriate areas.
  • Compliance with Health and Safety legislation throughout the home, including reporting of H&S incidents.
  • Carry out day to day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain standards in the care home.
  • Actively engage with staff, relatives and families as part of the care home team and regularly engage with residents.
  • Ensuring that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
  • Having excellent communication with the Home Manager and also the Residents.

About You:

  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair work.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Able to demonstrate Health and Safety awareness through discussion.
  • To share our values and demonstrate them at all times.
  • “Can-Do” flexible team worker, problem fixer, passion for what they do, ability to manage diverse and demanding workload, think out of the box, open to doing things differently.
