Joining us at Verwood House, our luxury care home that provides residential, dementia, and nursing care for older people, you\’ll be part of a team that is genuinely passionate about the health and well-being of our residents. Reporting to the Maintenance Officer, the maintenance team makes sure that we have a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well.

What you\\\’ll be doing

  • Ensure the home and grounds are kept in a good state of repair and residents have access to all appropriate areas
  • Compliance with Health and Safety legislation throughout the home, including reporting of H&S incidents
  • Carry out day to day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain standards in the care home
  • Actively engage with staff, relatives and families as part of the care home team and regularly engage with residents
  • Ensuring that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
  • Having excellent communication with the Home Manager and also the Residents

  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair work
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Able to demonstrate Health and Safety awareness through discussion

  • “Can-Do” flexible team worker, problem fixer, passion for what they do, ability to manage diverse and demanding workload, think out of the box, open to doing things differently
