As our kitchen assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our care homes kitchen. Joining us at Milngavie Manor, our luxury care home that provides residential, dementia, and nursing care for older people, you\’ll be part of a team that is genuinely passionate about the health and well-being of our residents.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
- Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
- Ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and that safe methods of work are always used
- Manage all stocks and stores, ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
- Maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirements such as fridge temperature checks
About you
- Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment
- Committed to customer care and first-class service provision
- Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations
- Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
- To share our values and demonstrate them at all times. “Can-Do” flexible team worker, problem fixer, passion for what they do, ability to manage diverse and demanding workload, think out of the box, open to doing things differently
