Job Overview
Support in the development and manufacture of prototype laser systems and equipment. Ensures communication with related areas of the business.

Primary Responsibilities
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, support the engineering team in the development, assembly and test of custom laser products and prototypes. Design and run experiments and feasibility studies to address issues or improve performance. Document results and communicate these findings to wider group. With support from your manager, be able to troubleshoot, solve issues and suggest and implement design improvements within tight deadlines. Report on status and development on projects to other areas of the business.

Contributes within the team. Managing own goals, objectives and KPIs. Raises issues professionally to ensure cross collaboration, deadlines are met and process improvements are achieved.

Qualifications Required
A-levels in maths or science. Studying for an undergraduate degree in science or engineering.

Skills & Knowledge Required
Excellent data analysis and problem solving skills. High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality and reliability. Excellent team player with practical and methodical working practices. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Strong organisational skills and able to work on multiple concurrent activities. Willing to gain hands-on lab experience in a high-tech industry.

Experience Required
Knowledge of the physics of laser technology or optics would be an advantage.
