Help Shape the Future of Inclusion

Halton Borough Council and NHS partners are seeking innovative, passionate and highly skilled professionals to join our new Experts at Hand Team, an ambitious and transformative service designed to strengthen inclusion, build capacity within mainstream settings and improve outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team that brings specialist expertise directly into schools, early years settings and colleges, ensuring that the right support is available at the right time. Through coaching, modelling, consultation and practical intervention, our Experts at Hand Team will help educational settings develop the confidence, skills and knowledge needed to meet a diverse range of needs.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Your Contributions:

Apply psychology within the context of children/young people and adults, in schools /settings and families, to contribute to the Educational Psychology service plan under the guidance and support of the EP team through involvement with consultation, training and overall service delivery – available to schools, settings and families through core time, Experts at Hand and traded models.

Assist the Educational Psychology Service in the delivery of services with reference to those Children and young people who are not attending educational settings due to difficulties with their emotional health and wellbeing.

Conduct and evaluate small scale research-based projects to add to the practice-based evidence base for intervention under the supervision of Educational Psychologists within the team through Core, Experts at Hand and traded models of service delivery. Promote Inclusion, Educational achievement / attainment, and Social and Emotional development.
