Here at Halton Housing, we are looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Safety Officer to work across our vibrant organisation.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Duration: Fixed Term until September 2026

What You’ll Do:

  • Take responsibility for the management and resolution of ASB cases ensuring all Halton Housing customers and local residents are interviewed, investigations undertaken, liaising with legal and other professional staff and developing action plans.
  • Support victims and perpetrators and take enforcement or preventative action.
  • Following investigation decide the correct cause of action including mediation, acceptable behaviour contracts, legal action, including the use of injunctions, demotion, and possession orders.
  • Assist in the preparation of cases for legal action.
  • Co-ordinate Halton Housing involvement in multi-agency forums to agree a joint approach to tackling anti-social behaviour.
  • Keep up to date on legislation, literature and good practice on the subject.
  • Work closely with colleagues in other Teams by providing advice and support in relation to ASB.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience in delivering an ASB service: knowledge and understanding of ASB action from initial complaint, interventions, through to legal action and eviction. Including up-to-date knowledge of court protocol for arrears and understanding of powers available to assist in resolution management of ASB and use of injunctions.
  • Ability to carry out thorough and systematic investigations, including interviews, surveillance and to provide accurate and thorough written, verbal reports and witness statements.
  • Ability to analyse and monitor information/data, identify trends and recommendations.
  • Produce reports up to Senior Management level.
  • A good working knowledge and/or understanding of relevant legislation and regulation in ASB and Debt Recovery.
