Here at Halton Housing, we are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to work across our vibrant organisation.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures across the organisation.
  • Lead on construction health and safety, including site inspections, audits and reporting.
  • Support managers with risk assessments, risk management and occupational health matters.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System.
  • Provide expert health and safety guidance, coaching and technical support to managers and employees.
  • Develop and deliver health and safety training and induction programmes.
  • Support employee consultation and the effective operation of the Health & Safety Committee.
  • Undertake workplace monitoring, including noise, dust and vibration assessments where required.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in a similar Health & Safety role, including auditing and delivering training, with a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to achieving a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) within three years.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Excellent problem-solving, influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and produce reports for senior management.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet targets.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams.
