Here at Halton Housing, we are looking for an organised Governance Officer with a high attention to detail to work across our vibrant organisation.
What Youll Do:
- Work with key stakeholders, including Leadership Team, to provide a comprehensive governance support service for the Customer Committee, including meeting scheduling, agenda planning, and quality administration.
- Attend Committee meetings to take accurate, high quality meeting minutes.
- Provide governance advice to ensure the Committee operates within its Terms of Reference and the organisations governing documents.
- Prepare Board and Committee reports on governance and regulatory matters.
- Act as key point of contact for Customer Members.
- Facilitate the recruitment, appointment and re-appointment of Customer Members.
- Coordinate the delivery of Customer Committee induction, appraisal and learning and development opportunities.
- Contribute to the planning and organising of the group wide annual meeting schedule.
- Deputise for the Governance and Compliance Partner on governance matters as required.
- Lead on ensuring compliance with the Regulator of Social Housings requirements on access to information for social housing tenants.
What Youll Need:
- Proven experience in a corporate governance or corporate support role with a background in social housing or a similar regulated sector.
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Qualified to A-Level or equivalent and studying towards, or commitment to studying, a governance qualification.
- Can apply a range of problem solving, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and networking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability in quality minute taking and meeting management.
- Can work proactively and independently to balance conflicting priorities and achieve key deadlines, targets and outcomes.
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
- Confident in competent usage of all Microsoft packages incl TEAMs.
