Here at Halton Housing, we are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to work across our vibrant organisation.
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
Duration: Permanent
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Lead on construction health and safety, including site inspections, audits and reporting.
- Support managers with risk assessments, risk management and occupational health matters.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System.
- Provide expert health and safety guidance, coaching and technical support to managers and employees.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training and induction programmes.
- Support employee consultation and the effective operation of the Health & Safety Committee.
- Undertake workplace monitoring, including noise, dust and vibration assessments where required.
What You’ll Need:
- Experience in a similar Health & Safety role, including auditing and delivering training, with a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
- Commitment to achieving a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) within three years.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Excellent problem-solving, influencing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends and produce reports for senior management.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet targets.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams.
