Salary Range: Band 7: $92,264.00 - $110,027.00
Location: Facility Services, J.W. Singleton Education Centre
Work Schedule: 35 hours/week, 12 months/year

Position Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Building Performance Department, and supporting the General Manager of Facility Services in delivery of capital projects through implementation and development of the Multi-Year Capital Plan, the Specialist, Building Performance and Capital Projects will be responsible for scope of work development, contract management, project delivery, analysis and problem solving, verification of mechanical maintenance, customer interface, and Facility Services and Planning team support. This position requires an outgoing, highly qualified and energetic person responsible for mechanical asset and performance management. This position will support cross-departmental alignment and integration, supporting excellence in customer service to Facility Services supervisors, employees, and ensures that the Board minimizes building operation disruption and is efficient in its operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Performance Team and Facility maintenance strategy and support
- Commissioning and Building Automation System support
- Provides practical information on building construction and facility maintenance equipment and system operations.
- Provides project supervision of major renovation and replacement.
- Provides project construction schedules, inspection proposals, critical path milestone inspections and approvals.
- Coordinates building inspection, prepares detailed construction progress reports
- Supervises onsite construction and major renovations.
- Attends construction meetings, represents the board's position in dispute resolution.
- Prepares monthly reports on the status of the project.
- Provides design input to consultants based on Board standards.
- Approves, designs and manages the tender bidding process.
- Reviews, evaluates and recommends contractors and consultants for new construction or major renovation.
- Provides project supervision, reporting and commissioning from in progress to completion.
- Signs off on substantial completion and ensures documents are organized and accurate.
- Participates in the review of monthly draws with consultants for approval.
