Ashley High School are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher to join our outstanding team. We are seeking a primary trained or special education specialist teacher with experience of Autism/social communication and SEMH. The successful candidate will have the ability to form positive relationships and adapt to the needs of the pupils.

You will be responsible for leading and delivering the Design Technology curriculum, including Construction, while also teaching Science or other subjects as required, under the guidance of the relevant subject leads. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching qualifications at Entry Level and Level 1 and be able to teach to a wide range of abilities. Differentiation and individualised learning strategies are vital skills required to meet the needs of all our pupils who will have had varying degrees of success in their educational lives.

You will be tasked with creating exciting and inventive curriculums, with a focus on functional skill development to support our young people develop practical life skills. This truly is an amazing opportunity to develop subjects with learning and engagement at the core of everything we do.

The ideal candidate will successfully set a vision and targets for pupil success and be confident in using their knowledge and expertise to monitor progress, give regular feedback and encourage our young people to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.

Job Summary:

As an experienced teacher specialising in supporting SEND needs, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating individualized educational programmes for students with specific needs. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment, implementing strategies and interventions to support their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development. Collaborating with other professionals, parents/carers, and support staff, you will promote the overall well-being and progress of pupils with Autism, Social Communication Difficulties, SEMH and other specific needs.

Required for 1st January 2026
