Our Team: As School Crossing Operative (Relief Mobile) you will be part of the Road Safety Team providing relief cover when one of our School Crossing Patrols is absent. You will be required to cover all School Crossing Patrol Sites within the Borough and often at short notice. Use of a car and access to a telephone early morning and mid afternoon are essential requirements of this job. Full uniform and training will be provided.
Your Contributions: We are looking for a reliable and responsible person to join a well established and respected school crossing patrol service. You must be punctual and reliable with a positive attitude when working with children. You will be responsible for stopping traffic to allow the safe crossing of pedestrians on their journey to and from school each day and will be required to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good communication skills are essential to be able to organise groups of pedestrians and issue clear instructions.
Hours: Hours of work vary however a 2 hour retainer will be paid per week. Term time only therefore holidays to be taken during school closure.
