ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
The Bridge School is a KS3 and KS4 Pupil Referral Unit for students who have been excluded from Mainstream High Schools or who are at risk of exclusion. Our learning offer includes a broad and balanced curriculum with a focus on the core academic subjects English, Maths and Science. The Vocational Centre broadens our school offer and provides a distinctive curriculum designed to engage KS4 learners who require a more practical learning pathway or who may benefit from alternative learning arrangements. Many of our students experience Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and often present with some additional needs and barriers to learning.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and aspirational Catering and Hospitality Tutor. You will be a person-centred, organised, and emotionally resilient professional who can develop a practical curriculum that supports individual need and promotes continuity and progression for our learners. You may have a trade background and have previous experience in teaching vocational catering and hospitality courses. A secure knowledge and understanding of Level 1 / 2 courses, and the ability to accurately assess to ensure that the highest possible standards of learner achievement are met is essential. This is a new vocation for the school so experience of starting a new project is preferable.
You will be delivering to small groups of learners, initially 4, but due to challenging needs and behaviours you will be required to contribute to the management of learner behaviour, displaying a high level of professionalism conducive to a school environment. At all times you will be committed to ensuring high expectations for behaviour and learning and demonstrate a professional responsibility to promote the safeguarding and welfare of our learners.
