Halstock Cabinet Makers are looking for a Senior Estimator to join the team to produce quotations and cost estimates. We are looking for candidates who have a detailed understanding of luxury bespoke cabinet making, including the many and various finishes and specialist skills that are common to our industry. Projects can vary in size from a single room of fitted furniture through to multiple area projects. The successful candidate will ideally be able to demonstrate a track record in a similar position or have experience that would help to transition into the role.
Previous Furniture Industry Experience Is Essential. Based in Somerset, we design, manufacture, and install bespoke interiors for the luxury high-end residential market both in the UK and overseas. We have a total of 105 staff with a combined 500+ years cabinet making experience across the whole business.
Detailed Job Description:
- Initial point of contact for estimating enquiries.
- Receive, file and review pricing documents.
- File onto the Halstock Folders system – Create hard copy folder of project information.
- Assess size of project, technicality and suitability for Halstock.
- Liaise with Sales Manager and Operations Director regarding project programme and capacity.
- Review and understand Pre-Production capacity.
- Liaise with project contacts to confirm receipt of documentation, confirm or reject a pricing request/tender, request RFIs and clarification on project details, and maintain relationship between Halstock and project contacts.
- Set-up Halstock quote sheets and price items as required.
- Create requests for further information and ensure project queries are resolved.
- Mark-up project documents accurately, highlighting items that are included within the pricing document and ensuring clear understanding of items that are not included.
- Liaise with Department Heads and arrange project review meetings to assess pricing.
- Request sub-contractor prices for specialist materials.
- Liaise with procurement team regarding appliance pricing.
- Write thorough specifications for each item that is being priced.
- Create project timelines based on dates required for the start, fit and completion of a project.
- Review all quotations with Sales Manager & sales team before they are sent to the client/project contact.
- Ensure all quotations are correctly compiled and proofread before being sent out.
- Hand over won project work smoothly and efficiently to project teams.
- Ensure work is planned accurately and on a weekly basis into the Estimating schedule.
- Attend weekly Halstock sales meeting.
- Arrange and attend CPDs as required.
- Attend mid-tender interviews as required.
- Assess historic project work to amend and improve on existing quoting systems and procedures as and when requested.
Skills and Abilities:
- Background within the cabinet making/interior design industry.
- Knowledge of CAD software and ability to read and understand drawings.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Bespoke Cabinet Making and Construction Industry.
- Excellent external and internal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.

- High attention to detail and focus on completing projects/actions.
