Job Title: Itinerary Coordinator – Specialty Tours Location: 35 Churchill Pk, Colwick, Nottingham NG4 2HF Salary: Competitive Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Company: Established over 40 years ago, Halsbury Travel is a market leader within the school travel industry and specialises in international tours for schools and groups to destinations across Europe and worldwide. Our mission is to make organising school trips easier, so that more young people benefit from these unforgettable, inspiring educational experiences. We were recently acquired by Literacy Capital Plc, who are experts at investing in and growing SME businesses. Due to the rapid expansion of our company, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our operations team. About the Role: If you're passionate about travel and giving young people opportunities that will inspire and further their learning, we want to hear from you! The successful candidate will be a key member of the speciality tours team responsible for arranging the travel arrangements and itinerary fulfilment for our tours travelling mainly to Europe. This position would be covering in the Sport department for a short period of maternity cover, before moving into our music department. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with the group leader from booking until the trip's conclusion. Develop a detailed and engaging itinerary based on the group's needs. Ensure all tour elements are booked within budget while maintaining profitability. Communicate with accommodation centres about rooming, meal arrangements, and general inquiries. Update accommodation centres and transport providers on passenger changes, name changes, dietary requirements, etc. Address any queries from group leaders regarding their tours. Potentially serve as a 'Tour Rep' to assist groups on tour. Visit destinations for training, supplier audits, and reviews. Handle tour inquiries via telephone. Work proactively and productively with other departments in the business. Perform other business-related tasks as needed. Potentially attend and present at school parents' evenings, both remotely and in person. Be on call for out-of-hours phone duties while groups are on tour (with additional pay).About you: Skills/Knowledge Required: Experience in the Schools Travel Industry is highly desirable. Strong knowledge and understanding of multiple destinations and subject areas. Excellent organisational and administrative skills. Proactive and able to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers. Outgoing and confident personality. Strong communication skills. Positive 'can-do' attitude. High proficiency in written and spoken English (Grade C or above at GCSE or equivalent). Proficiency in a second European language is highly desirable (preferably German or French), though not essential.Why work with us?
