Ready for an exciting career in the Leisure industry? We have a great opportunity for a qualified Swimming Instructor (STA Award/Certificate or SEQ Level 2), or for someone who can show the passion and willingness to achieve the STA Award qualification. You will be instructing, coaching and teaching designated activities as appropriate to the level of ability, age range and target groups. You will be responsible for teaching a skill for life and have the ability to relay information in an informative and helpful way. You will be organising and carrying out lesson plans and assessments, ensuring the safe use and storage of equipment, whilst providing customers with confidence in the water. Halo centres are vital community assets which are well used and supported by the local population. There is always room for growth and you will be a key player in the future of this centre.

Duties and responsibilities
- Plan and carry out swimming lessons to increase customer skill and confidence
- Provide feedback to customers to help them improve their swimming skills
- Ensure customers are aware of the risks in the water and build confidence to overcome any barriers
- Beat your targets
- Run a safe and clean activity, taking care of the resources which are needed to deliver the services on offer
- Pitch in as needed to help your centre, your manager, your colleagues
- Promote our values and expectations
- Support your colleagues
- Commit to your own development
- Take part in company training programmes
- Provide feedback so we can continually improve
- Respect the privacy rights of customers and colleagues
- Take responsibility for your performance

Skills qualities and experience
- Experience of instruction groups of mixed age and abilities
- Knowledge of the National Plan for Swimming Teaching
- Health and Safety
- Good oral communication and interaction skills
- Flexible approach to working hours including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Willingness to achieve the NRASTC Light qualification (provided by Halo).
