Ready for an exciting career in the Leisure industry? We have a great opportunity available for a qualified exercise professional. You will need at least a Level 2 health & fitness qualification and experience in the fitness industry.

Halo centres are all vital community assets which are well used and supported by the local population. You will deal with a wide variety of customers, supporting them to get the best out of their visit to the gym, as well as delivering a small number of group exercise classes each week on shift.

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Hours: 22.5 - 25 hours per week

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To enhance our customer’s experience and member retention, motivating clients to adhere to exercise to support long-term, health-related behaviour change.
  • Use technical knowledge to conduct assessments, consultations and inductions, providing sound demonstrations of gym-based exercise and equipment.
  • Conduct pre-exercise screening and when individuals should be referred to other exercise or health professionals.
  • Plan safe and effective gym-based exercise programmes, providing ongoing supervision, monitoring and programme review to ensure programmes remain engaging, varied and progressive to clients’ needs and goals.
  • Provide a positive customer experience by routinely ‘walking the gym floor’ to engage and build rapport with clients and to support safe and effective exercise technique.
  • Use the equipment available within the gym to run small group activities.
  • Be responsible for health and safety and cleaning relevant to their role within the gym environment.
  • Act as a first point of contact and provide high levels of customer care, service excellence and assist with any customer feedback, taking responsibility for the customer experience.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge, keeping abreast of new trends within the industry, along with attending external & internal training regularly.
