Halo Health Pharmacy is a growing, GPhC-registered pharmacy business focused on delivering safe, accessible and high-quality healthcare services.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and forward-thinking Superintendent Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy operations, oversee clinical governance and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the designated Superintendent Pharmacist, providing professional leadership and oversight of pharmacy operations.
- Ensure full compliance with GPhC standards, medicines legislation and relevant regulatory guidance.
- Develop, implement and regularly review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and clinical governance frameworks.
- Oversee the safe and effective dispensing and supply of prescription-only medicines, including private prescriptions.
- Manage and monitor online pharmacy services, ensuring appropriate patient identification, clinical safeguards and prescription verification processes.
- Oversee relationships with independent prescribers and third-party prescribing platforms, ensuring robust governance arrangements.
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments and quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead the management of dispensing incidents, complaints, near misses and patient safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure effective medicines management, storage and handling procedures.
- Support recruitment, training, supervision and professional development of the pharmacy team.
- Act as the primary professional contact for the GPhC and support regulatory inspections.
- Work closely with senior management to develop and expand pharmacy services while maintaining patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
Essential
- Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Strong understanding of UK pharmacy legislation, GPhC standards and clinical governance.
- Experience in pharmacy management, leadership or a senior pharmacist position.
- Excellent understanding of dispensing processes, SOPs, risk management and patient safety.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgement and take ownership of regulatory responsibilities.
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Superintendent Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager.
- Experience working within an online or distance-selling pharmacy.
- Familiarity with private prescriptions, electronic prescribing systems and remote prescribing services.
- Experience preparing for or managing GPhC inspections.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
