The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an Experienced Gardener based in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire. This is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm. The role is ideally suited to a gardener with strong plant knowledge who enjoys working with ornamental planting, decorative borders, seasonal displays, and productive growing areas. The focus is very much on horticulture rather than landscaping. You will be working within a well‑established gardens team, maintaining beautiful gardens to an exceptionally high standard while contributing to ongoing planting projects and horticultural improvements across the estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain ornamental borders, beds, and planted areas to a high standard
  • Plant and care for perennials, shrubs, bulbs, and seasonal displays
  • Carry out pruning, training, deadheading, and general plant care
  • Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies
  • Support the development of new planting schemes and garden projects
  • Assist with the maintenance of specialist planting areas and mature garden features
  • Help maintain productive growing areas and kitchen garden spaces
  • Carry out watering and irrigation tasks where required
  • Maintain excellent presentation standards throughout the estate
  • Work effectively as part of a team and independently when required

Requirements

  • Proven experience within a professional gardening environment
  • Strong plant knowledge and horticultural understanding
  • Experience maintaining decorative borders and ornamental planting schemes
  • RHS Level 2 horticultural qualification preferred; candidates studying towards RHS Level 2 will also be considered
  • Full UK driving licence essential due to location
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work to consistently high standards
