A dynamic and growing manufacturing business in Aldershot is looking to bring on a Product Compliance and Sustainability Lead to join them in a pivotal new role. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to shape compliance processes and drive forward a sustainability agenda from the ground up. Working closely with internal departments and senior leadership, you'll lead product compliance efforts while designing and implementing the company's sustainability roadmap. The role offers a balance of strategy, hands-on work, and future leadership potential.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure products comply with UK/EU legislation such as REACH, RoHS, WEEE, and the new GSPR
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain accurate product documentation and testing data
- Maintain compliance records, declarations, and technical files
- Respond to customer compliance and safety documentation requests
- Stay up to date with regulatory changes and provide internal guidance
Sustainability Strategy:
- Lead the creation and delivery of a company-wide sustainability roadmap
- Research and implement sustainable materials, packaging, and production improvements
- Collaborate with procurement and production to integrate environmental best practices
- Support accurate environmental claims and sustainability communications
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as the go-to expert for internal and external compliance/sustainability queries
- Lead training sessions and updates for internal teams
- Provide input during new product development to ensure compliance from day one
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on compliance requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of product legislation such as REACH, GSPR, or similar
- Able to interpret and communicate regulatory and technical documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident managing compliance data and documentation (Excel, trackers, etc.)
Desirable:
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 or environmental management systems
- Background in compliance within manufacturing, consumer goods, or promotional products
