The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Plant Technician Assistant to join an established family business providing indoor planting and maintenance services to commercial clients across Central London.
This is a temporary position for approximately 1-2 months, with an immediate start available.
You'll be working alongside experienced Plant Maintenance Technicians, supporting them with the day-to-day care and maintenance of indoor plants at commercial client sites.
Your main responsibility will be watering plants and assisting the technicians with general plant care, helping to ensure indoor planting displays remain healthy, tidy and well presented.
The work will cover Central London, including areas such as Holborn and Paddington, with all locations accessible by public transport.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working with plants, is reliable, practical and happy to work as part of a team. Previous horticultural experience would be beneficial but isn't essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced Plant Maintenance Technicians with daily maintenance visits.
- Water indoor plants across commercial client sites.
- Support general plant care and maintenance activities as directed.
- Help keep indoor plants and displays clean, tidy and well presented.
- Assist with equipment and materials where required.
- Travel between client locations across Central London using public transport.
- Work professionally and respectfully within commercial premises.
- Follow instructions and relevant Health & Safety procedures.
Requirements
- An interest in plants, gardening or horticulture.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Comfortable carrying out practical, hands-on work.
- Able to follow instructions and work alongside experienced technicians.
- Professional and presentable when visiting commercial client sites.
- Comfortable travelling between locations across Central London.
- Available for an immediate start and a temporary assignment of approximately 1-2 months.
Previous experience in gardening, horticulture or plant maintenance would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Hours
This is a full-time temporary position, working 42.5 hours per week.
You'll be working alongside experienced Plant Maintenance Technicians, visiting commercial client sites across Central London.
Location & Travel
The position covers Central London, including Holborn, Paddington and surrounding areas.
All sites are accessible by public transport, and public transport costs for work-related travel will be covered.
A driving licence is not required.

- £12.71 per hour plus holiday pay, equivalent to £14.24 per hour including holiday pay.
