Grounds Maintenance Team Leader (Ormskirk, England)
Salary: GBP13 - GBP14.56 per hour
We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader based in Ormskirk. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position offering up to £14.56 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
This is an opportunity to join a well-established green space maintenance environment supporting high-quality grounds services across multiple sites.
Immediate start available. 40 hours per week. Working patterns may vary depending on seasonal requirements.
This role is ideal for an experienced grounds maintenance professional who is ready to step into a leadership position and take responsibility for supervising small teams and delivering work to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Supervisors and Senior Team Leaders in delivering programmed maintenance works
- Take responsibility for daily site operations including timekeeping, productivity, and allocation of work
- Lead by example, motivating and guiding team members on site
- Deal professionally with members of the public, clients, visitors, and deliveries
- Operate and oversee the safe use of company and hired vehicles, machinery, and equipment
- Ensure daily checks and routine servicing of equipment are completed and recorded correctly
- Maintain high standards of health & safety compliance at all times
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by management
Requirements
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of small engine machinery and grounds maintenance equipment
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation within a ground’s maintenance environment
- Good IT skills for basic reporting and record keeping
- Full UK driving license (essential)
