We are currently recruiting for a Garden Maintenance Team Leader based in London. This is a full time permanent position with a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per year DOE. The role requires travel across Central London and surrounding premium domestic and commercial sites. A company van is provided and can be kept at home as you will start from home each day, with a weekly visit to the yard to collect materials. The start date is ASAP.
This role is ideal for an experienced garden maintenance professional who is ready to take the lead across a varied portfolio of high quality sites. You will guide the on site team, maintain excellent standards, and ensure strong presentation and client service at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out general garden maintenance across premium indoor and outdoor sites including watering, planting annuals and bulbs, pruning, irrigation, lawn care and overall garden development.
- Ensuring gardens are maintained to a consistently high standard with strong attention to detail.
- Leading by example on site and supporting the training and development of maintenance staff.
- Delivering excellent customer service and responding professionally to client queries.
- Completing daily electronic job sheets clearly noting work completed and next steps.
- Working independently when required and collaboratively with operations teams and designers.
- Using initiative to plan daily tasks efficiently and manage time across multiple sites.
- Upholding Health and Safety standards on every site and ensuring safe working practices within the team.
- Full clean UK driving licence essential and confidence driving a company van.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- PA1 and PA6 certificates required.
- Minimum two years recent industry experience with strong knowledge of planting, pruning, pest and disease control, irrigation, seasonal tasks and lawn care.
- Previous team leader experience or readiness to step up into a leading role.
- CSCS card desirable.
- Recognised horticultural qualification desirable ideally RHS Level 2 or equivalent experience.
- Strong horticultural knowledge and practical maintenance ability.
- Confident leading, motivating and supporting a small team on site.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues and designers.
- Highly organised with good time management.
- Proactive can do attitude with the ability to use initiative.
- Keen eye for detail and pride in high quality presentation.
- Reliable, professional and comfortable working across multiple locations.
- Salary £35,000 to £45,000 per year depending on experience.
- Company van provided and kept at home for daily start from home working.
- Full time permanent role with working hours typically 07:30 to 16:30 or 17:00 Monday to Friday.
- Weekly yard visit included for stocking up on materials.
