The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader based in Leighton Buzzard. This is a full time ongoing temporary position working 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The pay rate is £15.12 per hour inclusive of holiday pay. This is a mobile role working across commercial sites including retail parks, schools, colleges, business parks, and public open spaces.

You will lead a two-person team consisting of a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader and Grounds Maintenance Operative, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced grounds maintenance professional looking to take responsibility for a small team and represent a leading landscaping contractor. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and organise a two-person grounds maintenance team
  • Carry out grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, and general grounds maintenance duties
  • Ensure sites are maintained to agreed standards
  • Operate grounds maintenance machinery and equipment safely
  • Complete vehicle and equipment checks
  • Liaise professionally with clients and site representatives
  • Allocate daily tasks and support team members
  • Maintain Health and Safety standards at all times
  • Report site issues and additional works opportunities
Requirements
  • Previous commercial grounds maintenance or landscaping experience
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Full UK driving licence essential
  • Experience using petrol-powered grounds maintenance equipment
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable and organised approach
