The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Leighton Buzzard. This is a full time ongoing temporary position working 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The pay rate is £14.24 per hour inclusive of holiday pay. This is a mobile role working alongside a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, maintaining a variety of commercial sites including retail parks, business parks, schools, colleges, parks, and public open spaces. You will form part of a two-person team carrying out planned grounds maintenance works and ensuring sites are maintained to a high standard throughout the year. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience looking for ongoing work with a well-established grounds maintenance company. A full UK driving licence is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, and general grounds maintenance
  • Maintain commercial and public sector sites to a high standard
  • Use hand-held grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively
  • Support the Team Leader with daily site tasks
  • Carry out litter picking and general site tidying
  • Assist with planting and seasonal maintenance works when required
  • Complete daily tasks efficiently and safely
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Previous grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Experience using grounds maintenance equipment advantageous
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Reliable and punctual
