We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Hounslow. This is a full-time temporary-to-permanent position working Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm. The pay rate is £15.68 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.
You will work across school grounds and outdoor spaces, carrying out grass cutting, shrub maintenance, and general grounds maintenance duties as part of a friendly and professional team. Applicants must have previous experience within a similar grounds maintenance, gardening, or landscaping role. A full UK driving licence is essential, and an enhanced DBS check will be required.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out grass cutting and lawn maintenance across school grounds
- Maintain shrubs, borders, and planted areas
- Undertake hedge cutting, edging, and general grounds upkeep
- Support line marking and seasonal grounds maintenance work
- Use horticultural machinery and equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain clean, safe, and tidy working areas
- Work as part of a team to complete daily schedules
- Carry out basic checks on tools and equipment
- Report hazards, defects, or maintenance issues
- Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times
- Previous experience within a similar grounds maintenance, gardening, or landscaping role is essential
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Comfortable using grounds maintenance tools and machinery
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- PA1 and PA6 certificates beneficial but not essential
- Willingness to learn and undertake further training
- Able to complete an enhanced DBS check
- Strong work ethic
