We are currently recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Gardener to join a small and friendly garden maintenance company working across London. This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 3.00pm, with a salary of £26,000 to £28,000 per annum, depending on experience. The company works across both residential and commercial properties, with the majority of work focused on residential gardens. This is a varied, hands-on position carrying out general garden maintenance across different sites throughout London. You don't need extensive plant knowledge, as training can be provided for the right person. What is more important is that you have practical gardening experience, are reliable, responsible and able to work independently.

The company yard is based in Hayes, although you do not need to live locally. Candidates can be based anywhere within London, with the opportunity to be picked up en route depending on location. This is a great opportunity to join a smaller company where you can become a valued member of the team and continue developing your gardening knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general garden maintenance across residential and commercial properties
  • Cut and maintain lawns
  • Carry out hedge cutting and pruning
  • Weed beds, borders and planted areas
  • Maintain plants, shrubs and garden areas
  • Assist with planting and garden improvements
  • Help with plant selection and simple planting designs where appropriate
  • Keep gardens clean, tidy and well presented
  • Operate garden machinery, power tools and hand tools safely
  • Travel between different client sites throughout London
  • Work independently when required
  • Manage allocated tasks efficiently and use your own initiative
  • Maintain professional standards when working at client properties
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Full clean UK driving licence essential
  • Must be aged 25 or over for company vehicle insurance purposes
  • Confident driving and travelling between sites
  • Able to work independently and use your own initiative
  • Reliable, responsible and punctual
  • Comfortable working outdoors throughout the year
  • Professional and respectful when working at client properties
  • Spray certificates such as PA1 and PA6 would be advantageous but are not essential
  • Excellent plant knowledge is not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate
