We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Fire Door Inspector to join our fire safety compliance team. This role is ideal for a qualified professional who is confident conducting thorough inspections, producing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with current fire door legislation and standards.
As part of our commitment to safety and service excellence, you’ll be responsible for inspecting fire doors across a range of commercial and residential properties, identifying issues, and advising on necessary remedial works.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct detailed inspections of fire doors to ensure compliance with BS 8214, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and other relevant standards.
- Complete thorough inspection reports with photographic evidence and clear defect identification.
- Provide professional advice to clients on fire door performance, condition, and remedial actions.
- Liaise with internal teams and subcontractors regarding repair works where needed.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure paperwork is completed to a high standard.
- Deliver services across a wide geographical area, primarily within London and the Home Counties.
- Working Week: 48 hours per week, door-to-door, across 5 working days.
- Overtime: Paid at time and a half for hours worked beyond the standard 48-hour week.
- Saturday: Time and a half.
- Sunday: Double time.
- Holiday Entitlement: 26 days annual leave, plus bank holidays.
- Vehicle Use: Company van provided with private use permitted (subject to HMRC tax compliance).
- Proven experience inspecting and reporting on fire doors in line with current legislation.
- Recognised fire door inspection qualification (e.g. FIRAS, BM TRADA Q-Mark, IFC or equivalent).
- Excellent knowledge of fire door components, installation methods, and compliance criteria.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule.
- Full UK driving licence required.
