Halmer Recruit is looking for a driven Recruitment Consultant to join our growing Horticulture & Landscaping division based in Egham, Surrey.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious recruiter to build and grow the temporary recruitment desk within our established Horticulture & Landscaping division, with the backing of an established recruitment business, existing client agreements and the freedom to develop new business across a national market.

You will be joining a specialist division supporting businesses across the UK within commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, estate management and horticulture.

With several client agreements already in place, you will have a solid platform to build from while taking ownership of expanding the temporary desk through proactive business development and exceptional client service.

The Role

This is a dedicated temporary recruitment role where you will take ownership of developing and growing the temporary desk.

Working directly with the Division Manager, you will take ownership of building and growing the temporary recruitment desk.

You will receive hands-on support, guidance and mentoring while having the autonomy to win new business, build your own client portfolio, develop long-term relationships and establish a successful specialist desk.

You will inherit existing client agreements while proactively generating new business, developing long-term partnerships and building a strong network of temporary workers.

You will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from winning new clients through to filling bookings and maintaining excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow and develop the temporary recruitment desk.
  • Win new business through proactive business development and cold calling.
  • Build relationships with landscaping, grounds maintenance, estate management and horticultural businesses across the UK.
  • Develop existing client agreements and identify opportunities to increase business.
  • Manage temporary recruitment vacancies from start to finish.
  • Source, interview and register temporary workers.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of available candidates.
  • Match candidates to temporary assignments.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with new and existing clients.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both clients and candidates.
  • Manage client accounts and identify opportunities for continued growth.

About You

We're looking for a motivated recruiter who enjoys developing business, building relationships and creating long-term success.

You will ideally have

  • Previous recruitment experience, preferably within temporary recruitment.
  • A confident and proactive approach to business development and cold calling.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commercially driven and target-focused mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple vacancies and client relationships.
  • A positive, professional and self-motivated attitude.

Experience within Industrial, Construction, Driving, Facilities Management, Trades & Labour or another fast-paced temporary recruitment sector would be highly advantageous.

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 4:30pm.
  • Hybrid Working
  • Monday to Wednesday office based in Egham.
  • Thursday and Friday working from home.
