Are you an Assembly Operative, PCB Assembler or Electronics Assembler looking for your next opportunity within electronics manufacturing? We are recruiting on behalf of an established electronics manufacturing client in Berkshire for a PCB Assembly Operative to join their production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with good attention to detail and manual dexterity who enjoys hands-on assembly work. Previous electronics or PCB assembly experience would be advantageous, although candidates with transferable manufacturing or production experience are also encouraged to apply.

Importantly, there is potential for this position to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

As a PCB Assembly Operative, you will be involved in the assembly and production of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components, working to defined quality standards and production instructions.

  • Assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components
  • Component placement and through-hole assembly
  • Hand soldering, where trained
  • Supporting SMT assembly processes and machinery, where trained
  • Carrying out electronic and mechanical sub-assembly work
  • Visually inspecting completed work for defects and non-conformances
  • Following drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Handling ESD-sensitive electronic components correctly
  • Completing production, quality and traceability documentation
  • Working towards production targets while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Identifying and reporting component shortages, defects or production issues
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Supporting other areas of the assembly department when required

What We're Looking For

  • Good manual dexterity and excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to follow written work instructions, diagrams and production documentation
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a production team

Previous experience in any of the following would be particularly useful:

  • Electronics assembly
  • Through-hole assembly
  • Hand soldering
  • Electronic component assembly
  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Production or manufacturing environments
  • Working to quality standards and production targets
