As the Production Planner, you are responsible for short-term production planning and control across assigned manufacturing lines. The role focuses on releasing work to production, maintaining flow, supporting OTIF delivery, and providing accurate and timely information to operational stakeholders. You will work closely with Production, Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure plans are achievable and executed effectively.
Accountabilities:- Line-level production planning and sequencing
- Release of Kanbans and/or works orders
- OTIF support through daily progress tracking and expediting
- Accurate and timely communication of production status
- Support implementation of engineering changes affecting SKUs
- Cleanliness of data within our ERP system
- Release of works orders / Kanbans in line with agreed plan
- Update production priorities within ERP systems
- Stock movements to support production
- Scrap
Health, Safety and Environment: Ensure all preventative measures in place at the time are adhered to. Work closely with the H&S team to constantly monitor and improve the current state of H&S for our employees via the use of Risk Assessments and preventative/corrective actions - Drive a Health and Safety culture where H&S is our Number 1 priority.
Leading yourself: Comply with company values, policies and code of conduct at all times. Act as an effective link between planning, manufacturing, supply chain and engineering, ensuring information is shared clearly and on time.
- Create and maintain short-term production plans for assigned lines
- Release and manage Kanbans / works orders in line with priorities and material availability
- Progress chase and expedite production orders to maintain flow
- Attend daily meetings and provide accurate status updates on completion times and constraints
- Identify risks to plan and escalate issues appropriately
- Support in implementing engineering changes affecting SKUs
- Maintain accurate planning and order data within ERP systems
- Support continuous improvement of planning and control processes
- Work closely with Production Supervisors and Production Leaders
- Liaise with Supply Chain and Customer Services on priorities and constraints
- Support Engineering with change implementation and communication
- Provide clear and timely information to stakeholders
- Provide planning cover for colleagues during periods of absence
- Support ad-hoc business and improvement activities as required
- Develop capability in production planning and control disciplines
- Gain proficiency in ERP planning transactions and reporting
