About the role

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling and testing Keeler’s products in accordance with manufacturing instructions to the correct quality standards and the daily Production Plan. The individual must be enthusiastic and willing to develop their skills to build sub-assemblies and Ophthalmic instruments. The role will involve both mechanical and electrical assembly. The person should be proficient in handling small mechanical components/assemblies and have previous soldering experience. Attention to detail is key to ensure our high-quality standards are maintained. The ability to follow clear instructions from the Assembly Line Manager or Team Leader is essential. The Technician role is a team role and is expected to work closely with colleagues to contribute to the continuous improvement of Keeler’s manufacturing operation.

  • Assemble products to the required pre-defined Manufacturing Instructions, Quality standards and Production Plan.
  • Observe the Keeler Health and Safety procedures.
  • Ensure excellent housekeeping standards are always maintained.

About You

  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn
  • A good team player, who is respectful and open to feedback
  • Some experience of electro/mechanical assembly or soldering, either as a hobby or in the workplace is desirable but not essential.
  • An interest in engineering and manufacturing
  • High level of attention to detail. Neat and methodical worker with a high degree of self-discipline
  • Patience
