Working Site Supervisor School Cleaner – Chidham Parochial Primary School £13.50 per hour (pro rata) | Monday to Friday, 4:30 pm – 7:15 pm (term time) + deep cleans during all half‑term breaks.

We are a fast‑growing, professional cleaning company specialising in school cleaning across West Sussex. We pride ourselves on delivering high standards, supporting our teams, and maintaining strong relationships with our school clients. We operate in line with all UK employment law, safeguarding requirements, and health & safety regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Cleaning Duties: Perform daily cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitising, bin emptying, and toilet cleaning. Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the school. Report any damages, repairs or safety issues promptly.
  • Supervisory Duties: Lead and support a small team of cleaners. Allocate and monitor cleaning tasks and ensure cleaning schedules are followed. Train new team members and oversee cleaning quality and performance. Communicate effectively with management and report any staff or site issues. Complete and submit timesheets or check attendance.
  • Key Holder Duties: Unlock and/or lock the school premises as required. Ensure all alarm systems are correctly set and the building is secure. Carry out checks to ensure windows and doors are locked and all cleaning areas are safe before locking up.
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in school or commercial cleaning.
  • Experience in a supervisory or team‑leader role.
  • Trustworthy and responsible, with experience in a key holder role (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and high cleaning standards.
  • Understanding of health & safety and COSHH (training will be provided).
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS.
Working Pattern & Pay

Term‑time role with scheduled deep cleans during school closures. Pro rata pay, spread evenly across 12 months. Monthly pay includes annual leave entitlement.

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual with good attendance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina: standing, bending, lifting and manual cleaning tasks.
  • Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals.
