Export Official Veterinarian – Peterborough & Surrounding Area
HallMark Official Controls is seeking a dedicated Export Official Veterinarian (OV) to join our team, covering Peterborough and a 60-mile radius. This is a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary professional to take on a stable, well-supported role within export health certification and regulatory work.

The Role:
As an Export OV, you will:

• Complete Export Health Certificates (EHCs), ensuring consignments comply with animal, public health, and welfare requirements of the destination country.
• Follow RCVS certification guidance and the 10 Principles of Certification.
• Review Notes for Guidance (NFGs) for each EHC to meet specific importing country requirements.
• Carry out inspection and verification tasks, including supervising and checking product loading.
• Maintain accurate records, complete documentation promptly, and input data into company/external systems.
• Build strong relationships with businesses and colleagues, providing excellent customer care.
• Support a multiskilled service which may include on-farm inspections, Animal Welfare Licensing visits, TB testing, OV work in meat establishments, and sampling projects.

What We\’re Looking For:
Essential:

• Veterinary degree (BSc or MSc) and RCVS membership (or eligibility).
• Strong English proficiency (IELTS 7 or OET grade B for vets).
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to ethical practice.
• A flexible and reliable team player.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Full right to work in the UK

Preferred:

• Qualified Export OV with OCQ(V) – ES, EX, and PX certifications.
• Knowledge of the food industry.
• Experience in abattoirs, meat processing, or export health certification.
• Good understanding of relevant legislation, health certification, and enforcement.

• Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (occasional weekend overtime)
• Location: Peterborough + 60-mile radius
