At Vorenta, we work at the heart of the UK Agrifood sector through HallMark Veterinary and Compliance Services and MLC. Our work supports food safety, animal health and public trust, partnering with organisations such as Defra, APHA and the FSA. This opportunity sits within our HallMark Official Controls division, which delivers vital services under the FSA contract. Behind that delivery is a small, dedicated coordination team responsible for ensuring the right people are deployed in the right place at the right time.
You will join a close-knit team where Collaboration, Openness, Integrity and Quality guide how we work, how we support one another and the standards we maintain every day.
The role
This is an important coordination role covering two major areas of our FSA contract within HallMark Official Controls. You will be responsible for managing rotas that support our operational delivery across Exports, Imports and Official Controls activity, ensuring consistent staffing and service continuity. Working as part of a small team, you will play a central role in day-to-day operational delivery. The position requires strong organisation, attention to detail and the confidence to respond quickly when plans need to change.
Our operations do not always sit neatly within standard working hours. Sickness, operational adjustments and customer requirements can arise at short notice, and you will take responsibility for managing these changes and ensuring appropriate cover is arranged. This role includes regular on call responsibility, including weekends. There are no rigid working hours and no clock watching. What matters is that the role is delivered effectively and that rotas are accurate, fair and dependable.
We operate a flexible hybrid approach. We require office presence in Berkeley during the week to support collaboration and team working, but this can be structured around operational needs. We are therefore seeking someone who lives within commutable distance of Berkeley and is comfortable working in a responsive operational environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining rotas across key operational areas
- Coordinating staffing across two major FSA contract regions
- Responding to sickness and short notice changes
- Allocating shifts in line with contracted hours and business priorities
- Maintaining accurate holiday and staffing records
- Communicating clearly with operational managers and field staff
- Supporting continuity of service across the division
Workload will fluctuate depending on operational demand. You will need to prioritise effectively, remain calm under pressure and maintain a high level of accuracy at all times.
About you
You may already be working in a scheduling, coordination or resource planning role within a fast-paced environment. Alternatively, you may come from an operational administrative background where organisation and responsiveness are key.
You will bring:
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- The ability to manage competing priorities without losing accuracy
- Confidence in responding to change and making sound decisions
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm when workloads increase
- Strong IT capability and confidence using rota or administrative systems
- A proactive mindset and the confidence to take ownership
- Experience coordinating rotas or managing operational staffing would be beneficial.
What matters most is your reliability, responsiveness and ability to keep operations running smoothly. This role will suit someone who is comfortable being regularly on call and who understands that operational roles require flexibility beyond a traditional Monday to Friday pattern.
What we offer
- Salary of £27,000 per annum
- Flexible hybrid working built on trust and accountability
- Pension scheme after three months
- Simply Health plan and Access to Perkbox after successful probation
- Free onsite parking
- A supportive and collaborative team environment
If you are organised, dependable and ready to take ownership of a role that sits at the heart of operational delivery within HallMark Official Controls, we would love to hear from you! Apply now and take the next step in your career with Vorenta.
