Type: 37.5hrs- Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £35-38k depending on experience
This role is initially a 12 month FTC - The right person can be based in any location and will predominantly be remote, but you must be willing to travel to the various 22 locations in England and Wales, as face to face meetings are required.
The Role: The Employee Relations Specialist plays a key role in delivering a high-quality, proactive, and solution focused ER service across multiple sites. The role provides expert advice, coaching, and support to managers on the full spectrum of employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and best practice in the Care Sector. This role is central in driving a positive and inclusive workplace culture, minimising risk, and enabling effective people management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely, accurate guidance to managers on all ER issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance, flexible working, and capability cases.
- Advise Managers on ER cases from end to end, ensuring consistency, fairness, and adherence to policy and legal frameworks.
- Support note taking, investigations, and hearings as required, sometimes across multiple sites.
- Advise on early resolution approaches, promoting informal solutions where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate case records and produce case related documentation.
- Ensure all ER activity aligns with employment law, ACAS guidance, and internal policies.
- Support the People and Performance Business Partners to implement ER related policies and procedures.
- Identify risk areas and liaise with the P&P Business Partners.
- Build effective relationships across sites to strengthen trust and visibility of the ER function.
- Maintain the ER case management system and produce regular reporting on casework trends.
- Analyse data to identify themes, risks, or training needs and make proactive recommendations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ER processes.
- Previous experience managing a varied and high-volume ER caseload.
- Ability to influence and challenge managers in a confident, credible manner.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to simplify complex issues.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and travel between sites as required.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- CIPD Level 5 or working towards (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in a multi-site organisation or fast paced environment.
