Join Our Team as a "Lead" Printer & Multi Skilled Printer at Brighouse Distribution Centre!

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you’ll continue to be primarily responsible for the effective and efficient running of the Flexographic Printing Press and all its associated equipment and processes. In addition to this, you will be the primary point of contact for the Print Team, a “first amongst equals” position, creating a clear channel for daily, weekly and seasonal communications.

  • Ensuring that the weekly production plan is reviewed and that any issues or challenges are communicated in a timely manner.
  • Agree with print colleagues on upcoming working hours / shift patterns to deliver the agreed production plan expectations.
  • Identify any opportunities within the production plans to maximise Press Up-Time and minimise Paper Yield Losses.
  • Ensure that all entries into the Printing Summary controlled document are accurate and complete in a timely manner.
  • Identify and address any non-conformances with the Daily / Weekly Quality and H&S checks.
  • Highlight and communicate in a timely manner any significant material yield losses or machine performance issues.
  • Ensure that all Press Preventative Maintenance activities are planned and carried out in a timely manner (both operator planned maintenance activities and external resource planned maintenance activities).

Qualifications

We want a "Lead" Printer & Multi Skilled Printer who:

  • Has excellent technical understanding of printing technologies (ideally flexographic experience).
  • Has extremely high attention to detail and accuracy with documentation and procedures.
  • Can work as part of a team and independently.
  • Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to coach and train staff.
  • Has sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles and can develop and introduce these principles in a printing environment.
  • Is comfortable with working to short deadlines and demonstrates flexibility when dealing with challenging customer requirements.

It’s a plus if you have:

  • High levels of motivation in a fast paced environment.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • A flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work shifts when required.
