An opportunity has arisen at an international law firm for a Senior lawyer to join their Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure team. The practice advises sponsors, developers, energy companies, infrastructure investors, funds, financial institutions, and multinational corporates across the full project lifecycle. The team has strength in transactional matters, including M&A, joint ventures, project development, project finance and strategic investments across the energy and infrastructure sectors. We advise clients operating across traditional and transitioning energy markets, including Oil & Gas, LNG, Power & Renewables, Mining & Metals, Digital Infrastructure and critical infrastructure projects.

The Role

This opportunity is suited to lawyers with 5 -12 years post-qualification experience gained within a leading international or national practice, with a strong focus on energy sector transactions. The successful candidates will work closely with partners and clients on a broad range of matters, with a particular emphasis on energy-related M&A, joint ventures and project development work. The roles offer exposure to both established and emerging energy markets, including conventional Oil & Gas projects, LNG and midstream infrastructure, mining & metals, alongside renewable and energy transition opportunities. Candidates should be comfortable leading substantial workstreams, managing client relationships, supervising junior lawyers and contributing to business development initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and growing international practice with a strong reputation for delivering commercially focused advice on high-value, complex transactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong experience advising on M&A transactions within the energy sector.
  • Significant experience of drafting and negotiating joint venture agreements and related commercial arrangements.
  • Experience managing transactions and leading core workstreams with appropriate supervision.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent technical drafting ability combined with a commercial and pragmatic approach.
  • An interest in business development, client relationship management and contributing to the continued growth of the ENRIC sector.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring and developing junior lawyers.

This role can be based in either London or Bristol.
