£80,000 - £85,000

Hybrid (3-4 days in)

Central London

Reporting to the Finance Director, this small, tightly knit company need a personality who will work as part of a team. This is a varied and hands-on finance role, combining day-to-day management of the Finance team with responsibility for the financial reporting and accounting of productions. Working closely with the Finance Director, the role will have visibility across a number of productions as well as regular interaction with investors, directors and royalty earners.

Production Accounting & Reporting

  • Take ownership of the cyclical reporting of production accounts across all UK-based productions, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and delivered on time.
  • Review production costs to ensure expenditure is captured within the correct reporting periods and cost centres.
  • Post payroll and reserve journals and review reserve accounts to ensure anticipated production costs are appropriately covered.
  • Calculate royalty pools and manage the associated reporting to royalty earners, including self-billing where applicable.
  • Prepare financial reporting for investors and directors where required.
  • Manage the cyclical reporting of Productions, calculating royalty distributions.
  • Calculate and distribute production profits on a quarterly basis.

Finance Operations & Team Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Finance team, supporting them in delivering accurate and timely processing.
  • Manage key weekly finance activities, including payroll and payment runs.
  • Review and authorise payments.
  • Regularly review aged debtors, creditors and cash balances, identifying and following up on any issues.

Year End & Audit

  • Prepare year-end schedules, reconciliations and supporting information for the annual audit.
  • Act as a key point of contact throughout the audit process, responding to queries and coordinating information as required.

Wider Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Finance Director, highlighting any financial issues, risks or areas requiring attention.
  • Provide support across a small number of HR and IT matters as required, adding further variety to the position.

You will be / have:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMQ or equivalent)
  • Good all round experience in Financial accounting, tax and payroll.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • A thirst for bringing streamlined working practices to the department.
  • A decent understanding of Corporation tax and relevant tax relief
  • A team worker that is not afraid of a hands-on accounting as well as managing.
