Join Halliburton's Rig Installation Group and play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient cementing equipment installations on offshore rigs worldwide. Based primarily at our Aberdeen office, this position offers exposure to global projects, offshore installations, and cross‑functional collaboration.

As a Project Engineer / Technical Professional (Electrical), you will support the planning, removal, installation, and commissioning of offshore cementing equipment with a strong electrical and electronics engineering focus. You will contribute to project scheduling, technical documentation, electrical design, surveying, troubleshooting, and client engagement. Some international and offshore travel may be required.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Carry out rig surveys and capture electrical installation requirements.
  • Produce reports, project schedules/Gantt charts, pre‑planning documents, and resource forecasts.
  • Develop installation procedures, commissioning procedures, and certification data books.
  • Create, update, and review electrical diagrams for equipment installation on MODUs and platforms.
  • Act as the primary electrical technical contact for installation coordinators and clients.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking plan vs. actual using daily reporting from installation teams.
  • Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process when required.
  • Assist with preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Evaluate equipment requirements, certification needs, and classification considerations.
  • Interface with rig owners, clients, and classification societies as required.
  • Document and track lessons learned throughout project execution.
  • Participate in and promote Behaviour Based Safety programmes (e.g., STOP).
  • Support procurement, inspection, preparation, and mobilisation of electrical equipment and materials.
  • Design, develop, test, and support electrical and electronic circuits for surface equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronics circuits for surface equipment.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and practices in design activities.
  • Provide guidance to technicians and drafters, ensuring adherence to design standards.
  • May develop, test, and debug firmware for microprocessor, microcontroller, or DSP‑based systems.
Travel Requirements

Travel to the Aberdeen office from home location. Occasional international travel, including offshore assignments.

Education, Licensure, and Experience

Completion of an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or similar discipline.

Other Experience
  • Electrical and/or electronics design experience, field experience, reliability work, or PSL specific training.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with VFD/VSD power supplies, control systems, and associated installation or maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
